The island is full of beautiful and exquisite hotels, which provide tourists with various spa services. The therapeutic effect of Piešťany spa is mainly on the treatment of related diseases such as musculoskeletal and locomotion apparatus disorders. The hot mineral springs, which are rich in many precious chemical materials, come from more than 2,000 meters deep underground, and keep the healing heat energy with temperature about 69 ° C. The most unique is the sulfur mud with medical and cosmetic effects. Sulphur sludge is taken from the sediments of the river Vah, which is the longest river in Slovakia. The production of mud still follows the ancient method. The mud is soaked in hot spring water for a whole year of maturation and regeneration process, so as to react with local soft rock and specific bacterial flora to produce anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. Mature mud exhibits a blue to black colloid with plasticity and thermal conductivity, its cooling rate is four times slower than water, and its viscosity is 350 times that of water. The temperature of the mud applied during use is about 45 ° C.
At noon we drive to the nearby wine area, Radošina.
Radošina started the history of grape cultivation and winemaking in the 15th century. At the beginning, the French priest of the Nitra parish introduced the Pinot Noir variety in Burgundy, France, according to the local soill. The most fascinating thing about Radošina wine was it was drunk in the wedding banquet of Queen Elizabeth II in 1947. At that time, 500 liters of Radošinský Klevner was packed in wooden barrels, through the arrangements of local traders floating across the Atlantic Ocean to enter the royal table of the United Kingdom.

We are going to follow the Queen’s footsteps to take the only 1937-meter long cable car in Slovakia, which was operated by the transmission system of the top drive station. It began operation in 1908 and carriages were updated in 2007.
The entire High Tatras National Park has more than 600 kilometers of hiking trails, marked in red, blue, green, and yellow. Starting from this area, it extends to all directions. After getting off the cable car, we chose a suitable route to walk around according to tourists’ physical limitation.

The rest of the day, we just go around some small, but beautiful attractions nearby. Such as, Celtic cultural relic- Havránok and the picturesque Liptovská Mara ... etc. When approaching the evening, we prepare BBQ in the garden or set up fire and a big iron pot to cook outdoor Gulaš. Just like a local!
Vlkolinec is a living museum village. It is a remarkably intact settlement of 45 buildings with the traditional features of a central European village. In 1977, it was declared as a monument reserve of folk architecture by the nation. In 1993, it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Now only few senior residents still live in the houses. Other private houses may be used by owners as weekend houses or converted into accommodations. The ancient buildings and the tranquility of the mountain village, the time seems stagnant in the Middle Age, which makes people feel like a world apart. The focus of the visit was a wooden bell tower built in 1770, a wooden well that was 13 meters deep in 1860, and the Church of the Virgin Mary in 1875.
The stalactite cave of Demanovská jaskyňa slobody is located in the karst cave in the south valley of Low Tatras. The cave is six stories high. There are many huge domed halls on the walkway open to the public, with a size of 75 m , 45 m and 65 m. It has colorful and various breathtaking stalactite shapes. The Demenovska River flowing through the cave formed a magnificent cave lake on this sightseeing route, with a circumference of 52 m and a depth of 7 m. Its spectacular stalactite system makes it among the most beautiful caves in Europe and the most visited cave in Slovakia.

On this day we go to Spis Castle and its surrounding area, which was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1993. Spis Castle is the largest castle complex of Middle Age in Central Europe. Levoča is a quiet medieval ancient town full of historical monuments. On our way back to Liptovský Mikuláš, we take a different road and stop by the quiet glacial lake on the High Tatras-Strbské Pleso, the most popular attraction of photograph in High Tatras.
Spis Castle is located on a solid rocky ridge, easy to defend and difficult to attack. No wonder when the Tatars swept through Europe, they could only watch from far away, but never conquered it.The castle was once an important part of military defense line in the north of the Kingdom of Hungry. It was located in the old north-south route to the Baltic Sea, and the east-west commercial route. Spis Castle is mostly dilapidated after the devastation of fire and years of disrepair. In recent years, the government has been actively repairing. It has multiple exhibition halls, chapel, and tower with wide view. In summer, it offers night tour and various culture events. The movie Dragon Heart, starring Dennis Quaid, was shot here in 1996.
Spišska Kapitulá is known as the "Slovakian Vatican". Since the development of the monastery in the 11th century, it had always been an independent parish. It was surrounded by defensive walls built in 1662-1665. The only street in the center of the parish runs through two gates. For hundreds of years, the population was about 250-300 people, mostly clergy. Pope St. Paul II visited here in 1995. The most precious in the parish is St. Martin’s Cathedral, built in 1245-1273. The church with two towers on top is a fusion of Roman and Gothic style.
Spišské Podhradie literally means “under the castle”. The castle refers to Spissky Castle. Spišské Podhradie was developed by the needs of the castle, and it was also located on the important commercial road leading to Poland and the Baltic Sea. From here is the best location to admire Spis Castle.
Levoča witten in the Unesco list in 2009 is a quiet medieval town and protected by a complete city wall has many historical monuments. In the Middle Ages, it was an important city on the trade route of the Kingdom of Hungry to Baltic Sea.
